Following in her older sister’s footsteps, Mackenzie has been dancing since the age of two.
In 2011, Mackenzie, her sister Maddie, and their mother Melissa Gisoni were cast on Lifetime’s hit reality TV series “Dance Moms”, which allowed Mackenzie to grow as an artist and pursue other passions such as acting and singing.
On the music front, Mackenzie released her debut album in 2014 which soared to #1 on the iTunes pop chart list, #7 on the overall album charts, and her music video for the song “It’s A Girl Party” reached #1 in the US, UK and Australia. Mackenzie went on to record and star in “Freaks Like Me” by Todrick Hall and later recorded “Day & Night” with Johnny Orlando. In 2017, Mackenzie released the single “Monsters (aka Haters)”. The song was a trending track on YouTube’s top 15 and was featured on Sirius XM1 Hits. She followed this up with “Teamwork”. The song was part of a collaboration with Justice stores to unveil her activewear collection with the brand. “Breathe” came next. The video has received 28 million views and is one of Mackenzie’s favorites. In November of 2018, Mackenzie released an album “Phases”. Her growth as an artist can be heard on tracks like “Wonderful”, “Nothing On Us” and “Emoceans”. Her music videos have received collectively over 200 million views to date. 2017 also marked the start of live touring for Mackenzie as she embarked on the “Day & Night” tour with Johnny Orlando. 2019 will bring another exciting adventure as Mackenzie takes on a tour of her own.
Mackenzie has twice guest starred on Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for her social media as Choice Muser, was the face of Clean & Clear‘s Fall back-to-school campaign, starred in Ralph Lauren’s Kids Spring and Fall/Winter campaigns, and on top of all of this, she has released a 2018 book! Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, published MACKENZIE’S RULES FOR LIFE: How to be Happy, Healthy, and Dance to Your Own Beat by Mackenzie Ziegler.
